How to make a gift

There are three easy steps to make a gift that never stops giving:

1. Choose a Name for your gift. Your gift can be established as a fund in someone's name--a name that can stay with the gift forever. Each time a grant is made from your fund, it will be recognized by name. As a donor, the name you choose is very important.

2. Focus on the Impact you want your gift to make. You decide the area of work where your endowment can help our community. An unrestricted endowment is preferred by many who want to be able to assist the community's highest area of need. In times of disaster or urgent need, unrestricted endowments serve our community well. This way, all proceeds from the endowment are used to directly impact immediate community needs. A special Interest Endowment can provide funds for your interests in our community. You can establish endowments for such things as nursing scholarships, children's medications, athletic injuries, or special needs children. If you choose to have your endowment serve a specific purpose the proceeds will only be used for that purpose. You may choose a Designated Cause. If you are interested in such areas as: The Kiwanis Center, West Tennessee Cancer Center, Tennessee Addiction/Suicide, or The Heart Center, you may choose from these or other specific areas.

3. Choose the Best way to make your gift and leave your legacy. Funding of your endowment can be arranged by an outright gift of cash or securities, such as highly appreciated stock or property.
