What is Home Infusion Therapy?

Home infusion therapy involves the administration of medications using intravenous (small tube placed in a vein) and subcutaneous (under the skin) routes allowing patients to receive vital fluids and medications at home. While Medical Center Infusion Services is responsible for creating the infusion solutions ordered by the physician and providing all the necessary equipment for the infusion process, the administration of the infusion solutions is provided by a Home Health agency. Medical Center Infusion Services then provides the clinical monitoring and followup of the patient.
