Getting Ready

I was not able to eat or drink anything several hours before my surgery. The last thing I had to eat was my dinner the night before I went to the hospital. They call “not being able to eat before surgery” being N.P.O. This means, Nothing by Mouth. My mommy read all about this in the information given to her. Before we left to go to the hospital, mommy reminded me to bring my favorite teddy bear with me. She said that I would be able to keep my teddy bear throughout my whole hospital visit!
