Cogdell Spencer, Inc. and West Tennessee Healthcare are building a new medical office building to be located on West Forest Avenue, across from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Cogdell Spencer, Inc. has been named developer of the expansion project and construction is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2007. Demolition has taken place of some older buildings and some sitework has begun. According to Devereaux Gregg, vice president of Development at Cogdell Spencer, Inc., "The project, to be known as Medical Center Physicians Tower, will be a five-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot medical office building located across the street from the hospital." Plans include a multi-level parking garage and pedestrian walkway across West Forest Avenue.
"As the healthcare needs of the area continue to grow, the new medical office building is a significant addition to The Medical Center in Jackson. It represents a strong commitment from our physicians to the future healthcare needs of the people of West Tennessee," said Jim Moss, president emeritus of West Tennessee Healthcare.
