The Role of Hospice
Hospice of West Tennessee is a non-profit service offering a total support system to patients and families dealing with life-limiting illness. Quality of life--the emphasis of Hospice--is achieved through treatment of physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient and family with primary focus on patient comfort.
Offering hospice service since 1986, Hospice of West Tennessee provides care without regard to patient's ability to pay. Most Hospice care is provided in the home; however, respite and acute care is also available.
Hospice of West Tennessee is led by a team of various professionals--nurses, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, chaplains, volunteers, and a physician, who is board-certified in pallative (end of life) care.
Hospice is about building relationships and support for families. During a very meaningful and critical time, when people need to make crucial end-of-life decisions, Hospice of West Tennessee becomes an important piece in the delivery of quality, compassionate care. At Hospice of West Tennessee, we assist in managing the medical delivery of palliative care, implementing the psychological skills of a counselor; plus facilitating family relationship--this is the hallmark of a quality hospice program.
