Meet the Staff

LeAnn Childress, PT, ATC/LAT, ATRIC, serves as the Director of Sports Plus/Work Plus/AquaTherapies and has done so since July 2007.  Prior to this position, she worked at Sports Plus Dyersburg as a Physical Therapist and Program Manager. In her tenure at West Tennessee Healthcare, LeAnn co-developed the neonatal ICU program at JMCGH, served as Manager of the West Tennessee Rehabilitation Center Physical Therapy Department, attained her ATC/LAT to support the sports medicine department, and attained her aquatic rehabilitation specialty through ATRIC. LeAnn can be found at any one of the Sports Plus Clinics though most often at Sports Plus Central where she has her office. She covers all sports for Dyer County High School. LeAnn attended Union University and graduated from the University of Tennessee Memphis as a physical therapist and has worked at WTH since December 1992. LeAnn lives in Dyersburg and is active in 1st Baptist Church Newbern, serves Distict D on the Dyer County Board of Education, and serves on various committees in her community, especially those concerning her children.

Miki Martin, PT, COMT, is a physical therapist and Director of the LIFT Wellness Facility in downtown Jackson, TN. Miki has been practicing physical therapy for 15 years with emphasis in outpatient orthopedics and manual physical therapy. Miki received her physical therapy degree from UT in Memphis and holds an advanced certification in orthopedic manual physical therapy through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy. Miki is also a certified Sportsmetrics instructor through Cincinnati Sports Medicine, credentialed clinical instructor through the APTA, member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Miki is a native of West Tennessee and previously was the manager at Sports Plus North before becoming the Director of the LIFT Wellness Center.

Sports Plus North

Program Manager: Jay Wentworth, PT, received his bachelor's degree in physical therapy in 2000 from UT Health Science Center and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has been practicing for twelve years with an emphasis in orthopedics and sports physical therapy and previously worked at Sports Plus, Fitness. Jay is a native of Lexington, Tennessee.

Heather Deckard, DPT, joined Sports Plus North in 2011. She received her Bacher of Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2008 in exercise science. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May 2011 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Heather is interested in muscular and dysfunction of shoulder and spine.

Josh Edwards, PTA, joined Sports Plus North in 2011. Josh is a native of Bruceton, TN. Josh graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Biology in 2008. Following UT Martin, he obtained his physical therapy assistant certification from Jackson State Community College in 2011. He is also certified in Kinesio taping for athletic and non-athletic injuries and conditions.

Jessica Kee, DPT, joined Sports Plus North in 2010. She attended Union University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Exercise Science in 2006 while also playing collegiate softball where she set several records throughout her four years of play. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May 2010 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  She has been employed in the physical therapy field over 7 years.  Jessica is a native of Jackson, TN.

Brooke Laws, ATC/L, graduated from Union University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training.  Brooke began working at Sports Plus North in June of 2011 as a PT Tech and is now treating patients as an Athletic Trainer. She enjoys being a Certified Athletic Trainer as well as getting to know her patients and pushing them to complete their healthcare goals.

Kari McCory is the office manager for Sports Plus, North Jackson. She is a 2004 graduate of Northside High School and has worked in the administrative office of medical offices since then. She has been with Sports Plus since 2007.

Janna McKnight, PT, has been a part of West Tennessee Healthcare for 15 years. She graduated from Lambuth College and went on to receive her physical therapy degree from UT in Memphis. Janna has practiced in the areas of actue care orthopedics, women's health, and outpatient orthopedics.

Sports Plus South

Program Manager: Dwayne Burnett, PT, OCS, CSCS, has worked for Sports Plus Rehab Centers since 1997. A graduate of UT in Memphis, he has been program manager of Sports Plus, South Jackson since 2002. Dwayne is an APTA-Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics. He also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has 13 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. He also holds an associates degree from Jackson State Community College. He is certified by the American Heart Association as a Basic Life Support/First Aid Instructor.

Kristie Fowler, Office Manager, has been with Sports Plus South since 2005. She is a graduate of South Side High School and attended Jackson State Community College. Kristie started out as a Physical Therapy Tech then moved up to Office Manager in 2008. She is a member of Meridian Baptist Church and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Karen Gurley, MPT, is from Scotts Hill, TN and a graduate of Loma Linda University in California, where she earned a masters degree in physical therapy. She began working for West Tennessee in 1996 assisting patients within the West Tennessee Rehabilitation Center inpatient unit. She has eight years experience working with stroke patients. Karen has been with Sports Plus, South Jackson since 2005. She is an APTA-Board Certified Clinical Instructor.

Dean Houston, PT, CSCS, is originally from Nashville, TN. He spent nine years in the US Navy as a helicopter crewman/rescue swimmer. He graduated from UT in Memphis with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and began working with West Tennessee Healthcare in 2000. He has been with Sports Plus Rehab Centers, South Jackson since 2002. Dean is a certified strength and conditioning specialist as well as an APTA certified clinical instructor. He has attended numerous orthopedic continuing education courses including Maitland's courses for manual therapy.

Tammy Johnson, PTA, is a graduate of South Side High School and has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since 1989. She has been with Sports Plus, South Jackson since it opened in 1996. She graduated from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Jackson State Community College in 2007.

Brian Vaughn, PT, completed his physical therapy prerequisite classes at Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Florida. He was a student athletic trainer for the Florida Gators football team for the 1994 season. Brian received his B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1998. He began his Physical Therapy career at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He has worked for West Tennessee Healthcare at Sport Plus South since 2002.  He is an APTA certified clinical instructor. Brian has 11 years of outpatient orthopedic experience and has attended multiple continuing education courses in orthopedics.

Sports Plus Central

Program Manager: Bryan Thorne, PT, COMT, serves as program manager for Sports Plus Central. He attended Union University and graduated from UT in Memphis in 1994. He specializes in treating orthopedic injuries and surgeries including shoulders, knees, foot/ankle problems, neck and back pain, as well as other typical orthopedic problems. Bryan also fabricates orthotics for several foot conditions. He has received his Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the Maitland approach.

Andy Akin, PT, MLDT, graduated from Union University in 1988, the Shelby State PTA program in 1990, and the PT program at UT in Memphis in 1993. He has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since that time. Andy has experience in almost all areas of therapy. He has serves as a consultant in Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy (using the Vodder techniques) and has received his Maitland Manual Therapy Certification using the Maitland approach. He has experience working with inpatients in rehab for two years, lymphedema for 12 years, and a special focus in outpatient orthopedics during most of that time. He has additional experience with neurological problems and amputees.

Kim Bland works as a secretary with the Business Office. She has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since September 1992. During part of that time, she served as a physical therapy technician in the hospital, as well as secretary now at Sport Plus.  She greets, registers, and schedules patients, keeps up with insurance, and helps to prepare patients to begin their therapy.

Jane David, PT, DPT, is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She has a clinical doctorate in physical therapy and has been practicing in West Tennessee for more than 27 years. She serves as the director of the physical therapist assistant program at Jackson State Community College but maintains a limited clinical practice at Sports Plus Rehab Center specializing in vestibular rehabilitation and women's health. Jane also currently serves as chairperson of the Jackson District of the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association and is on the Board of Directors for TPTA at the state level. 

Dawn Davis, Clinic Manager III, attended Jackson State Community College and has been employed with West Tennessee Healthcare since June 1994. She is responsible for coordinating all business office functions for all new Sports Plus locations as well as managing the business offices at all of the existing Sports Plus/Work Plus/AquaTherapies locations.

Mitzi Day, PTA, graduated from Jackson State Community College in 2008 as valedictorian of her class. She immediately joined the Sports Plus family, and has been treating all types of orthopedic injuries and surgeries including shoulders, knees, foot/ankle problems, neck, and back pain.

Susan Gilbert, COTA/L, graduated from the COTA program at Nashville Tech Institute in 1984. The first 10 years of her OT experience was working in chemical dependency and dual diagnosis. During that time, she acquired a certification in chemical dependency counseling. While working in that setting, Susan developed OT group and individual treatment protocols that were published in the COTA textbook titled "Mental Health Concepts and Techniques for the OT Assistant." Since 1993, Susan is full time in the outpatient clinic treating various hand and upper extremity injuries. She also has experience in the following other settings: home health, rehabilitation, wound care, and acute care.

Jeff Johnson obtained his MA degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Memphis State University in 1989. He worked at the Trover Clinic and Hospital in Kentucky before joining West Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, Tennessee in 1991. He worked with the inpatient units at the Rehabilitation Center and at West Tennessee Transitional Care. In 2006, he began working for Sports Plus, Central. In this outpatient setting, he treats adults and teenagers with speech-language-voice-swallowing, and cognitive impairments caused by stroke, head injury, head and neck cancer, Parkinson's, vocal cord nodules, and Vocal Cord Dysfunction. Jeff is qualified as well in the use of VitalStim as an adjunct to treatment programs.

Meg Nethery, PT, graduated from Union University in 2000 before receiving her masters degree in physical therapy from UT at Memphis in 2003. She joined Sports Plus Rehab Centers immediately after that and has been treating patients at the outpatient orthopedic clinic since then. Meg treats all types of orthopedic patients with special emphasis in orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and women's health concerns. She is currently working toward her Maitland Manual Therapy Certification.

Erica Norman, PTA, joined the Sports Plus family July 2009. Erica is a graduate of the 2009 Physical Therapist Assistant program at Jackson State Community College. She graduated in 2001 from Freed-Hardeman University with a B.S. in Sports Medicine. She has completed her Manual Lymph Drainage certification through the Vodder technique. Erica joins Jessica Plunk, PT, MLD, and Josefina Pena, PT, MLD, in treating lymphedema patients.

Josefina Pena, PT received her degree and licensure in Chile, South America and is licensed in the U.S. She has been a physical therapist for 30 years, working the last 16 years in the U.S. She is the most experienced, full-time physical therapist at Sports Plus Central. She has training in almost every area of PT and has her certification in Manual Lymphedema Drainage Therapy.

Jessica Plunk, PT, MLDT graduated in 1999 from St. Louis University with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's degree in physical therapy. She has experience in various settings including skilled nursing, acute care (hospital), and inpatient rehabilitation. She has been with Sports Plus for two years and specializes in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Women's Health, and also carries a consistent orthopedic case load.

Eddie Sidwell, PT, has been a physical therapist for West Tennessee Healthcare since 1994. He attended Union University and graduated from the physical therapy program at UT in Memphis. His experience includes more than six years working in an inpatient rehab setting. During this time, Eddie gained valuable experience treating various neurological problems including head injuries and strokes. The rest of his experience includes working with numerous types of orthopedic injuries and surgeries found in the outpatient setting. Eddie has been seeing patients at Sports Plus Central for the past eight years and specializes in neurological assessment and treatments.

Malinda Sims, Registration Supervisor for SportsPlus Central, has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since 2006. She supervises other registration staff at Central and other locations for SportsPlus. She works directly with patients and insurance companies to ensure proper delivery of our services for our clients. She has over 15 years of experience with customer service.

Lisa Skelley, OTR/L, CHT, is one of the few certified hand therapists in West Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee State University in 1993 and has been working at Sports Plus and West Tennessee Healthcare ever since. She received her certification as a hand specialist in 2002. She works with trauma surgeons and orthopedic specialists to treat various hand injuries from nerve and tendon repairs to carpal tunnel problems. Lisa is able to help a wide variety of patients from many backgrounds because of her extensive experience.

Suzy Smith, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She has worked in various settings throughout the West Tennessee Healthcare system.  In 2000, Suzy began working with Sports Plus Central where she treats primarily patients with neurological impairments as well as hand injuries. In May of 2009 she became one of only two Occupational Therapists between Memphis and Nashville to be Saebo certified.  This certification allows her to fit and train neurological patients with a new device that improves overall hand function after a stroke.

Work Plus Rehab Center

Program Manager: Paul R. Reilly PT, CEAS, serves as the program manager for the Work Plus Rehab Center in Jackson, TN.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 2000 with a degree in physical therapy as well as graduating from Jackson State Community College with an Associates of Science Degree.  Paul's major areas of practice include inpatient/ outpatient orthopedics along with work hardening/ work conditioning.  He is a Functional Capacity Evaluator (Matheson System) and a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.

Varsha McMinn, Office Manager, has been with Work Plus for 6 years and has worked for WTH for over 18 years.  She received a BSBA from Union University and is well versed in billing and coding regarding insurance claims and processing.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons and is very involved with her church and children's school activities. 

William Pulley, Rehab Technician, has been with Work Plus Rehab Center since December 2009.  He began working with WTH in 1999 after he was injured and became a below knee amputee in May 1998.  He has experience in the Wound Management Center, acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient rehab.  He is in charge of the Amputee Support Group through WTH.  William has been captain of the Jackson Generals wheelchair basketball team since 1998.  He is also certified to install Sure Grip hand controls.       

Cody Stovall MOT, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with a master's degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.  He performs driving evaluations, job placement assessments, and treats a variety of orthopedic and neurological injuries.  He is a certified Sure Grip hand control installer and plans to sit for the CDRS exam in the coming year.

Woody Tatman OTR/L, CDRS, is an occupational therapist with a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University in 1988. He has worked for West Tennessee Healthcare for the past 23 years and has practiced in a variety of areas within the system including inpatient rehab, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation. He is a certified Functional Capacity Evaluator (Key Method) and a Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist. 

Sports Plus Lexington

Program Manager: Reign Britton, PT, serves as the program manager at Sports Plus in Lexington. In 1995, she graduated from UT at Memphis and began work with West Tennessee Rehabilitation Center. She has been with Sports Plus, Lexington since 2003.

Dana Faulkner, is the office manager for Sports Plus Lexington. She joined the staff in 2011. She has worked for West Tennessee Healthcare since 2006. 

Jeff McCord, PT, graduated from UT Memphis in 1991. He has many years of outpatient orthopedic experience and has been at Sports Plus, Lexington since 2003. He is working toward his certification in Manual Therapy and has a special interest in spine care.

Nick Peterson, PTA, is a native of Henderson County and a 2010 graduate of the Jackson State Community College Physical Therapist Assistant program. Nick and his wife, Candice (Camper), and daughter, Lilliana, live in Reagan.

Kathy Todd, PTA, graduated from Jackson State Community College and began working with West Tennessee Healthcare in 2001.

Sports Plus Dyersburg     

Program Manager: Kathryn Clegg, PT, Cert. MDT, is a physical therapist and program manager at Sports Plus Dyersburg.  Kathryn graduated from the University of Tennessee, Memphis with a B.S in Physical Therapy in 1988.  She has worked in Dyersburg for the past 12 of her 20 years in practice.  Kathryn received her Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from the McKenzie Institute in 1991, specializing in the treatment of neck and back pain.

Casey Eison, DPT, is a physical therapist at Sports Plus Dyersburg. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee in 2007 with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has been practicing for the past 2.5 years in Clarksville, TN and has just recently moved back to the area. Casey's interest is in manual therapy and she is planning on specializing in this area.

Cherie Hickman, M.S., SLP-CF, joined Sports Plus Dyersburg in 2011. She earned her bachelor's degree in communication disorders from Murray State University in May 2011. She is currently working toward her American Speech-Language Hearing (ASHA) certification. Cherie's special interests are in pediatric feeding, speech delay, and launguage issues.

Gayla Lane, PTA, is a graduate from Obion County Central High.  She moved to Dyersburg in 1984, and has been a resident of Dyer County for the past 24 years.  In 1995, Gayla achieved her Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from Jackson State Community College.  She received certification in Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy in 2003.  Other areas of interest are geriatrics and cardio fitness.

Hope Mitchell, Office Manager, is originally from Mississippi and moved to Dyersburg, TN in 1998.  She has been working as a receptionist or office manager in the field of Physical Therapy since 1999.  Hope stays current with all Medicare billing, coding, and other insurance policy changes as it affects Physical Therapy services.  Hope is married to Jerry Mitchell and has two daughters, Meagan and Kaylee.  Her interests include volunteering with the youth and directing the adult drama team at her church. 

Andrea Newman, Technician, graduated from Halls High School then continued education to get an Associate's Degree in Manufacturing Systems Technology from Dyersburg State Community College. In 2008 she changed directions in her career to become a Physical Therapy Technician.

Shelley Seratt, OTR/L, is originally from Pulaski, Tennessee, where she graduated from Giles County High School.  She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin for her undergraduate studies, where she met her husband, Dustin Seratt, of Newbern, Tennessee.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2001 with a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy.  After graduation, she worked for one year with the inpatient population at Cane Creek Rehab Hospital in Martin, Tennessee.  Then, once married, relocated to Dyersburg and has been working for West Tennessee Healthcare since 2002.  Her specialty is with the pediatric population, but she also enjoys working with adult patients with orthopedic and neurological dysfunctions.

Laura Thomas, DPT, joined Sports Plus Dyersburg in 2011. Laura graduated from Loyola Univeristy in New Orleans in 2008 with her undergraduate degree, and then from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in 2011 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Laura's interests are in treating patients with sports and orthopedic injuries. She plans to receive training in the area of women's health.

Sports Plus Henderson

Melissa Hazelwood, DPT, PT, ATC/LAT, graduated from Union University with a Bachelor's in Sports Medicine/Athletic training.  In 2009, Melissa graduated from UT Health Science Center in Memphis with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She has been with Sports Plus Henderson since 2009.

Sports Plus Fitness

Keisha Powell, PT, is a 2010 graduate from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She attended Dacula High School in Dacula, Georgia before attending college at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. While in college, Keisha played collegiate softball. Through different injuries while playing softball, Keisha decided that she wanted to pursue a career in physical therapy. Keisha enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, going to the river, playing with her dog, and working out.

Misty Gayton, PTA, is a graduate of Jackson State Community College physical therapy assistant program and received her Associates of Applied Science degree in 2007. Misty has been employed in the physical therapy field over 10 years.

Sports Plus Aquatherapies

Program Manager: Beth Patterson, PT, graduated from UT Memphis Health Science Center in 1993 with a Batchelor's in Physical Therapy. She is the co-founder of Special Kids Rehabiliation and the Rein-bow Riding Academy. She holds certifications in arthritis and Hippotherapy. She has been the director and co-founder of Sports Plus AquaTherapies since it's inception in 2004.

Rachel Blankenship, DPT, graduated from Belmont University School of Physical Therapy in 2009 with a doctorate in physical therapy. She enjoys working with patients with orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and performing manual therapy techniques. She has been with Sports Plus Aquatherapies since September 2009.

Derek Bullen, PTA, was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee where he graduated from South College with an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  He spent a few years traveling the country as a Physical Therapist Assistant before settling down here in West Tennessee. Derek presently resides in Dyer.

Marsha Camp has been working as a part time receptionist since 2004. She is a graduate of West Tennessee Business College and Jackson State Community College. She has more than 25 years of clerical/computer experience and earned her Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) rating in 1987.

Sarah Chattin, PT, graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO in 1998 with a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy. She has spent most of her career working with the pediatric and developmentally disabled populations. She has been with Sports Plus AquaTherapies since 2006.

Jenny Day, DPT, joined Sports Plus Aquatherapies in 2011. Jenny is a 2011 graduate from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She specializes in pelvic dysfunction and has implemented the woman's health program at Aquatherapies.

Paula Eubanks, Physical Therapy Technician graduated from Haywood County High School then continued education to get a bachelor's degree in science with focus in exervice science at Middle Tennessee State University. She is continuing her education to become a physical therapist assistant. She has been with Sports Plus Aquatherapies since 2009.

Sandy Hardin is currently the Clinic Manager of Sports Plus AquaTherapies where she has been since 2004. She is a graduate of Jackson State Community College with an Associates in Accounting.

Crystal Harris has many years experience in the medical field, first as the Adult Program Manager at the Cerebral Palsy Center for several years and most recently with Sports Plus AquaTherapies. She has been the Pool Coordinator/Aquatics Director since 2006 and also works in many areas performing many different jobs as needed by the clinic. 

Katie Hollis, DPT, joined Sports Plus Aquatherapies in 2011. Katie graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2011 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has special interest in orthopedic patients. 

Alissa Inman, DPT, graduated from UT Memphis Health Science Center in 2006 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has found great pleasure and interest in sports injuries and orthopedic patients and is also a first responder.  She has been with Sports Plus AquaTherapies since 2006.

Jessica Jordan, Physical Therapy Technician and Receptionist, graduated from Crockette County High School then continued her education to get an associate's degree in science at Jackson State Community College and a bachelor's degree in human health and performance at Lambuth University. She is continuing her educatino to become a physical therapist. She has been with Sports Plus Aquatherapies since 2008.

Megan Meyer, DPT, graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  She currently works at AquaTherapies and assists other clinics in the system as needed.  Her special interests include manual therapy, aquatics, and pediatrics.   

Amy Sidwell, PT, is a 1992 graduate of UT Memphis Health Science Center with a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy. She enjoys working with low back, pelvic, and core stabilization patients. She has been with Sports Plus AquaTherapies since 2004 and prior to that worked at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Carol Thomas has worked in the medical field since 1971 as a Registered Nurse, but most recently in the physical therapy field as an insurance specialist. She has been with Sports Plus AquaTherapies since 2005.

Gina Upton, PTA, graduated from Jackson State Community College in 1994 with an Associate of Applied Science from the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. She has experience with home health and aquatic therapy. She has been with Sports Plus AquaTherapies since 2004.

Sports Plus Milan

Program Manager: Lana Hoke, OT, BS, CEAS, attended the University of Central Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1993. Lana has additional training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment and the Saebo Arm Training Program. Lana is a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist.  

Carol Blair, PT, OCS, MTC, CSCS, Carol comes to Sports Plus Milan with experience and high accolades. She owned and founded Milan Physical Therapy. Carol is Board Certified in Manual Therapy and Orthopedic Physical Therapy, as well as a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Carol will continue to cover Milan School Athletics. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1975, and the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1976. Sports Plus Rehab welcomes her to the team.

Scott Holmes, DPT, is a native of Gibson County. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May 2010. Scott joined Sports Plus Milan in 2011. Scott's interests include treatment of musculoskeletal disorders of the spine, and spinal referred pain syndromes.

Brad Rogers, PTA, graduated from Jackson State Community College in 1997. He is trained as a clinical instructor. He has worked for Milan Physical Therapy since 1999.

Sports Plus Jackson Clinic

Program Manager: Ben Harper, PT, COMT, is a Jackson, TN native. He graduated from UT in Memphis with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy in 1996. Ben has advanced certification in orthopedic manual therapy through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy. Ben is also a certified Sportsmetrics trainer through Cincinnati Sports Medicine. Ben specializes in outpatient orthopedics and is the Center Coordinator for Clinical Education (CCCE) for all Sports Plus clinics.

 

Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers   

Sports Medicine Coordinator: Leigh Ann Wright, ATC, joined Sports Plus Rehab Center in 2002, and she currently serves as the Sports Medicine Coordinator and the athletic trainer for North Side High School. Leigh Ann received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She continued her education at Murray State University receiving her Master of Science in Exercise and Leisure Studies in 2002. Leigh Ann has been certified since 2002 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Blake A. Butler, ATC, ACE-Certified Personal Trainer, joined Sports Plus Rehab Center in 2012, and he is currently serving as the Athlete Trainer at Jackson Christian School. In addition, Blake works as an Exercise Specialist at the WTH Lift Center in Jackson, TN. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Union University in Jackson. His hobbies include Strongman competitions, Scot-Irish Highland games, CrossFit, outdoors sporting, and Young Life ministries.

LeAnn Childress PT, ATC/LAT, ATRIC, serves as the Director of Sports Plus/Work Plus/AquaTherapies and has done so since July 2007. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1992 and began work at JMCGH that year. She held a variety of managerial positions including managing the West Tennessee Rehabilitation Center as well as co-developing the neonatal ICU program. She has worked for Sports Plus Rehab Centers since 1998. LeAnn worked in Dyersburg until 2007 when she became Director over all Sports Plus Clinics. She is the athletic trainer for the Dyer County High School Choctaws.

Sabrina Clark, ATC, joined Sports Plus Rehab Centers in 2010, and currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for Dyersburg State Community College and Gibson County High School. Sabrina holds a Associates of Science in Psychology from Dyersburg State Community College and a Bachelors of Health and Human Performance in Athletic Training from The University of Tennessee at Martin. She became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2003 and has 10 years experience working at the Division 1 Junior College level. Before joining Sports Plus, Sabrina worked as an ATC and Physicians Extender for Sports, Orthopedics & Spine in Jackson, TN.

Kevin Hansen, ATC, graduated from Park University in 1997. His hobbies include fishing, golfing, and woodworking. He covers sporting events at Madison Academic High School and Jackson Central Merry High School in Jackson.

Tina Kautz, ATC, joined Sports Plus Rehab Centers in 2006, and she currently serves as the athletic trainer for Trinity Christian Academy, South Gibson High School, and Milan High School. Tina completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Union University. She continued her education at Union University receiving her Masters of Arts in Education in 2006. While completing her Masters Degree she served as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for Volleyball and Softball. Tina has been certified in Athletic Training since 2004 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Associations and Tennessee Athletic Trainers Society. Her favorite sport to work is football. Her hobbies include playing co-ed softball, biking, and reading. She is married and has two dogs.

Travis Livingston, ATC, received his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Martin in May of 2007 and became certified as an athletic trainer in August 2007. Following UTM Travis worked at East Tennessee State University as a graduate assistant with Bucsports Athletic Medicine Department working primarily with Men’s soccer and in conjunction with his G.A. position Travis worked on his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Performance and graduated with this degree in May of 2009. Before starting with Sports Plus Rehab Travis worked as an athletic trainer at Division III Maryville College in Maryville, TN from June 2009 until November 2010.  Travis covers sporting events for Jackson State Community College as well as South Side and Scotts Hill High Schools.

Adam Raines, ATC, joined Sports Plus Rehab Centers in may of 2007 on an as needed basis and began full time in August of 2008. Adam is based out of the Dyersburg clinic and serves as the Athletic Trainer for Halls, Ripley, and Dyer County high schools as well as Northview and Three Oaks middle schools. He graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN in 2006 earning a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. Adam Continued his education as a graduate assistant at Union University serving as the trainer for Women's Volleyball and Softball. His Graduate work was focused in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry. He has additional collegiate experience with Division-I football at the University of Memphis and Dyersburg State Community College. His medical interests focus on orthopedic trauma and joint dislocation/reduction. Adam's hobbies include basketball and golf.

Jay Roberts, ATC, joined Sports Plus Rehab Center in 2006. He grew up in Dexter, MO and graduated from Union University in 2004. He covers sporting events at the University School of Jackson and Liberty Technical High School. He enjoys playing tennis, craps and Connect Four in his free time.
