This program can enable an individual who suffered injury or a disease process to return to their former level of independence. Intensive therapy is a bridge between acute therapy and achievement of their highest level of independent functioning. It works on increasing endurance, muscle strength, motion, and function.
Adaptive equipment, splinting, compensatory techniques, modalities, exercise, and stretching are all used appropriately. All programs are individualized and address the goals of the patient. While our trained staff can work with an array of diagnoses, the more common ones are:
- Neurological: CVA (stroke), traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, brachial plexus injuries
- Advanced Orthopedic: hip replacement, knee replacement, upper and lower extremity fractures
- Cognitive Deficits: memory, attention, comprehension, new learning, and problem solving, etc.
- Activities of Daily Living: money management, sequancing, driving, safety, and hygiene, etc.
