Paid Time Off

Paid Earned Time

Paid Earned Time (PET) is a method of determining employees' paid time away from work. The PET program combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and funeral leave to allow employees greater flexibility in scheduling time off with pay.

Regular full-time employees may begin scheduling (using vacation time) PET after six (6) months of employment.

*Regular part-time employees scheduled to work at least 24 hours per week will be eligible for 6.5 PET days upon completion of one (1) year of continuous service and thereafter as accrued.

PET Sick Leave

Full-time employees have some protection against loss of income due to personal illness or other disability through PET Sick Leave. PET Sick Leave is accrued at the rate of 1.847 hours per pay period to a maximum of six (6) days a year. PET Sick Leave hours may be accrued up to 960 hours (120 days).

Bereavement (Funeral) Leave

Full time employees have some protection against loss of income due to death of an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent, or sibling) with paid time off for a maximum of 3 days or 24 hours. 

Jury Duty/Court Leave

Regular compensation will be provided for employees required or subpoenaed to testify as a witness in a court case involving any WTH matter.

Military Leave

Employees who require time off from work to fulfill military duties will be treated in accordance with applicable requirements of state and federal laws. Employees who are obligated to annual military training duty (National Guard or Active Reserves) will be granted military leave with pay for up to fifteen (15) regularly scheduled eight (8) hour work shifts in one calendar year, plus such additional days as may result from any call to active state duty.

Insurance Benefits

Upon the first day following a 30 day waiting period regular full time and part time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Health Benefit Plan.

Health Insurance

Our plan will only pay for charges for care, service, or treatment that is “medically necessary” in diagnosing or treating a sickness or injury. Outlined below are some highlights of the benefits and associated plan payment for services rendered. After the deductible has been satisfied, the medical options will pay 85% of the usual, customary, and reasonable (UCR) charges for covered services performed within Tier 1 (VHAN) network or 70% within Tier 2 (Aetna National) network.

Pharmacy Step Therapy Program – Prescriptions for treatment of high cholesterol, digestive disorders, and anxiety/depression will be filled with a generic alternative to brand name drugs for evaluation prior to getting the higher cost brand drug.

Dental Insurance

Upon the first day following a 30 day waiting period regular full time and part time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Dental Benefit Plan.

  • Preventive Services - Paid at 100% or UCR charges
  • Restorative Services - Paid at 80% of UCR charges after the deductible has been satisfied up to $1,500 per year
  • Major Dental Services - Paid at 50% of UCR charges after the deductible has been satisfied up to $1,000 per year
  • Orthodontia Services - Paid at 50% of those covered expenses up to a separate maximum lifetime benefit of $1200 for each covered person

Vision Insurance

Upon the first day following a 30 day waiting period regular full time and part time Employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Vision Benefit Plan.

  • Vision Exam - $5.00 co-payment, program will pay the remainder of the usual, customary and reasonable charges up to a maximum of $75.00.
  • Eyeglasses - Standard eyeglass lenses - $10.00 co-payment, plan will pay the remaining usual and customary charge for the lenses as follows once every other calendar year
  • Frames - One set of frames every other calendar year (up to a maximum of $75 per frame)
  • Contact Lenses - $125 for a pair of contact lenses every other calendar year ($10 co-payment required)

Note: Plan will only pay for glasses or contacts once every other year, not both.

Term Life Insurance

Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period regular full time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Life Benefit Plan.

Regular full time employees are provided by WTH a term life insurance policy equal to their annual base salary, rounded to the nearest thousand dollars with a maximum of $500,000. Employees may choose to purchase additional coverage equal to 1 time or 2 times their base annual salary up to a maximum of $1,500,000. (Guarantee Issue only applies up to $800,000)

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage (AD&D)

Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period regular full time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit Plan.

Regular full time employees are provided by WTH an accidental death & dismemberment insurance policy equal to their annual base salary, rounded to the nearest thousand dollars with a maximum of $500,000. Employees may choose to purchase additional coverage equal to 1 time or 2 times their base annual salary up to a maximum of $1,500,000. This benefit is in addition to term life insurance benefit.

Dependent Life Insurance

Optional Term Life Insurance Policies for eligible spouse and/or dependent children. Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period regular full time employees are eligible for enrollment in the Dependent Life Insurance. Employee must be eligible for the employer sponsored Term Life Insurance to qualify for this benefit.

Disability Insurance

Short Term Disability (STD)

Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period full time employees are eligible for enrollment in short term disability coverage. Short term disability is a voluntary benefit and 100% paid by the employee (after-tax premium). STD pays 60% of base pay up to a maximum of $1,000 per week.

Long Term Disability (LTD)

Upon the first day following 5 years of continuous employment regular full time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Long Term Disability Benefit Plan. This benefit is 100% paid by WTH. LTD pays 50% of base pay up to $12,000 a month and to age 65. There is a 180-day elimination period, which must be satisfied prior to the possible payment of LTD benefits. All benefits are subject to underwriting approval of insurance carrier.

Voluntary Long Term Disability

Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period regular full time employees are eligible for enrollment in the WTH Long Term Disability Benefit Plan. Long Term Disability is a voluntary benefit and 100% paid by the employee (after-tax premium). LTD pays 50% of base pay up to $5,000 a month and to age 65. There is a 180-day elimination period, which must be satisfied prior to the possible payment of LTD benefits. All benefits are subject to underwriting approval of insurance carrier.

Allstate Accident Insurance

  • Benefits pay directly to the employee.
  • Family coverage available.
  • $1000 is paid for initial hospitalization due to an injury.
  • Additional tax free benefits are available for ambulance and medical expenses.
  • Accidental death benefits.

Allstate Cancer Assistance Insurance

  • Benefits always pay directly to the employee at the time when financial assistance is needed the most – at the time of diagnosis and treatment.
  • Family coverage available.
  • Covers cancer and 29 additional diseases.
  • $100 annual wellness benefit means that you get a check for $100 when you submit proof of completing eligible preventive screenings (e.g., pap smear, mammogram, colonoscopy, etc).
  • $2000 tax free money is paid directly to the employee upon initial diagnosis.
  • Additional cash benefits are available if hospitalized and for reimbursement for radiation, chemotherapy treatment, blood plasma and platelet treatments.

Allstate Critical Illness Coverage

  • Low option benefit $10,000; high option benefit $20,000.
  • Benefits for covered dependents are provided at 50% of the employee amount.
  • Pays a lump sum payment directly to you at the time when you need it most for illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, coronary artery by-pass surgery, major organ transplant, end stage renal failure and also covers cancer.
  • $50 annual wellness benefit.

Combined Insurance; Lifetime Benefit Term Life Insurance With Funding For Long Term Care

  • Term life insurance face value of up to $125,000.
  • Term life insurance premiums never change (up to age 100).
  • Coverage for your spouse is also available.
  • Fully portable if you leave employment with WTH.
  • If needed, this policy provides advance death benefits at 4% of the face value for long term care.
  • These payments reduce the value of the life insurance face amount monthly as the benefit is used; the life insurance is exhausted after 25 months.
  • The policy automatically extends the long-term care coverage for an additional 25 months.

LEGAL SHIELD: Legal Services and Support

  • Provides employees with the ability to talk with an attorney about any matter without worring about high hourly costs

Final Expense Plus – Corporate Funeral Providers

This plan allows the opportunity to prepay for funeral and final expenses through payroll deduction at half the cost. Optional payment plans of 3, 5, 7 or 10 years are available. By planning for this event in advance, you relieve your family and loved ones of the difficult decisions that are made at an emotional time. Regular full time and part time Employees are eligible for enrollment upon employment.

Interest – Sensitive Whole Life Insurance

This benefit is designed to provide death benefits to your beneficiaries if you pass away, but it can build cash value that you can utilize while you are still alive. The interest rate your policy is credited with will never be less than the guaranteed minimum rate of 4.5%. Upon the first day following a 90 day waiting period regular full time and part time Employees are eligible for enrollment in the Interest-Sensitive Whole Life Insurance. Coverage options are available for employee, spouse and/or dependent children per plan provisions. Premiums are paid through payroll deduction. Coverage is portable, which means you can continue your coverage if you leave the company at the same rate on a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual basis.

Retirement Planning

403(b) Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan: Traditional Plan All employees are eligible for enrollment upon hire date, or anytime thereafter. You have the opportunity through payroll deductions to provide for retirement income. Employee contributions are deducted before federal income taxes are withheld from your earnings. The employee contributions may not exceed the IRS annual limitations (2016 limitations - $18,000 or $24,000 for employees age 50 and above). 

403(b) Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan: Roth Plan All employees are eligible for enrollment upon hire date, or anytime thereafter. You have the opportunity through payroll deductions to provide for retirement income. Employee contributions are deducted after federal income taxes are withheld from your earnings. The employee contributions may not exceed the IRS annual limitations. This plan does not have the matching contributions by WTH. A combination of the Traditional and Roth Plans cannot exceed the IRS Annual limits. 

403(b) Plan Match: Full time and part-time (part-time hired prior to 10/1/05) are eligible to receive the match following 90 days of employment with WTH, beginning on January 1 or July 1, whichever comes first.
WTH will match 50% of what you defer up to a maximum of 6% of your base salary. 

457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan: All employees are eligible for enrollment upon hire date, or anytime thereafter. Employee contributions are deducted before federal income taxes are withheld from your earnings. The employee contributions may not exceed the IRS annual limitations. This plan does not have matching contributions by WTH.

Note: Employees may contribute the IRS maximum annual limitation under both plans (403(b) & 457(b)).

Employee Assistance Program

On the Job Injury Compensation

Employees are provided medical services and compensation for on-the-job-incurred accidents. (Approval subject to the On-The-Job Injury Policy)

Unemployment Compensation

As determined by state law, you are provided payments, while unemployed, by WTH. The number and amount of these payments are governed by state law.
