ER Waiting Room
Provide the patient’s family and friends with information about the condition of the patient by checking on patients regularly. Work along with the Emergency Room Family Representative. Monitor and maintain the waiting area to provide a supportive atmosphere. Answer telephones and route calls to the proper place. Assist ambulatory patients from car to triage nurse desk. Act as liaison between patient/significant other and hospital personnel.
Assist Patient Relations Coordinator in communicating the hospital’s concern for the well being of all patients and their satisfaction with services rendered. Visit and welcome new patients. Keep up-to-date record of contacts with patients, families or visitors. Document and report to the Patient Relations Coordinator and the results of interviews with patients.
Assist nursing by escorting new patients to their rooms and helping them with the discharge process. Visit or read to patients; run errands; deliver ice and/or water; serve coffee to family members; answer call light system; inspect central supply cart; assisting patients with completing menus; assist with transporting patients; assemble patients charges; and assist with other duties as needed.
Volunteers make visits to patients and their families to lend comfort and provide spiritual support. Also, area ministers can participate in the On-Call Volunteer Program to provide spiritual support on nights and weekends.
Answer phone, route calls, take messages, copy, type, file, and assist with other duties as specified.
Sell, price, display, and ring up sales; gift wrap merchandise; replenish stock; assure customer satisfaction; and assist with cleaning and gift shop appearance.
Provide patient information and direction to families and the public within the scope of hospital policies and procedures.
Greet and assist hospital guests, help guests find the area they need, and give directions. Keep lobby area clean and remove paper and trash as needed. Answer telephone calls and route calls as needed. Visit with guests in the lobby and other duties as necessary.
Assisting the information desk area by providing directions and escorting visitors to areas on the first floor of the hospital to help them find their way around.
