Bio
Betsy Akin is a family-certified Nurse Practitioner with broad clinical experience spanning cardiology, primary care, urgent care, hospice, and weight management services. She brings more than three decades of nursing experience and nearly ten years of advanced practice care to patients throughout West Tennessee and the surrounding region.
Betsy earned her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Union University and also holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and maintains active Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the state of Tennessee.
A dedicated clinical leader, Betsy serves as a member of the APP Board and the Heart Failure Council at West Tennessee Healthcare, where she has also contributed to heart failure education initiatives aimed at improving patient understanding and outcomes.
She is known for her thoughtful clinical judgment, strong patient advocacy, and commitment to patient education, empowering individuals and families to take an active role in their care while delivering high-quality, evidence-based medicine.
