Bio
Martin Woon, PhD is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance, a master’s degree in music therapy, and a PhD from Brigham Young University. Dr. Martin Woon completed his internship training in neuropsychology at the University of Florida and his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Martin Woon is multilingual, with proficiency in Malay/Indonesian, Mandarin, Hakka, and Cantonese. His research has yielded over 20 publications in areas such as aging, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and psychiatric disorders like OCD and PTSD. He has been an active member of professional organizations, including the Asian Neuropsychological Association. Dr. Woon’s career includes roles as a Clinical Neuropsychologist at Ascension/Seton and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He also served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Clinical Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Martin Woon specializes in diagnosing and treating adult outpatients with neurological conditions. His expertise includes neurodegenerative diseases (such as dementia), mental health disorders, movement disorders, stroke, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injuries that affect cognitive function.
