Bio
Ashton Coles is a highly accomplished nurse practitioner with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. With a solid educational foundation, including a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner from Middle Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University, Ashton brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role.
Throughout her career, Ashton has gained valuable experience in various healthcare settings. As a Nurse Resident at Jackson-Madison County Hospital, she formed professional relationships with nursing staff and enhanced her nursing knowledge by rotating through multiple intensive care and medical-surgical units. She then transitioned to the role of Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU at Jackson-Madison County Hospital, where she collaborated with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Ashton’s proficiency in neurology and neurosurgical intensive care allowed her to navigate the unit effectively as a charge nurse, contributing to patient satisfaction and team cohesiveness. She also mentored nursing interns and students, sharing her knowledge and experience to support their growth.
Recently, Ashton works as a Registered Nurse at West Tennessee Healthcare Outpatient Surgery Center, where she monitors patients during their postsurgical recovery, ensuring their safety and comfort before discharge. She collaborates with various healthcare professionals to assess patients’ respiratory status and hemodynamic stability postoperatively.
In addition to her clinical experience, Ashton has actively participated in clinical rotations as an FNP at several area clinics. These rotations have further enriched her understanding of different healthcare specialties and patient populations.
Ashton’s dedication to her profession is evident through her numerous honors and awards, including membership in the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau International, Nursing Honor Society, and The National Society of Leadership and Success. These accolades recognize her academic excellence and commitment to leadership in the nursing field.
Ashton is passionate about connecting with her local community and caring for others. An avid reader who also enjoys traveling, she loves spending her free time caring for her two pet chameleons.
