Bio

John W. Coursey, MD, is a board-certified urologist with more than two decades of experience providing comprehensive urologic care to patients across Tennessee and the southeastern United States. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of urologic conditions, including kidney stones, prostate disorders, urinary tract conditions, and other complex urologic issues.

Dr. Coursey earned his Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then completed a transitional internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, followed by a residency in urology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas.

Before entering private practice, Dr. John Coursey served more than 20 years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 2007. During his military service, he worked as a flight surgeon and later as a urologist, gaining extensive experience in surgical and hospital-based care.

Following his military career, Dr. John Coursey continued his work as an urologist in both hospital and private practice settings across Tennessee and Georgia. Throughout his career, he has provided urologic care at multiple regional medical centers and healthcare systems, including Maury Regional Medical Center, Marshall Medical Center, and several health systems across the Southeast.

Dr. Coursey is certified by the American Board of Urology and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. His extensive clinical experience allows him to effectively treat both routine and complex urologic conditions while focusing on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
