Stephanie Bakey, DO, is a board-certified trauma surgeon with advanced training and leadership experience in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and general surgery. She currently practices at Prevea Health within an accredited Level II Trauma Program, where she provides comprehensive emergency and elective surgical care, trauma services, and intensive surgical critical care.

Dr. Bakey earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2010. She completed a General Surgery Residency at Michigan State University, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, and a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She is board-certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Bakey has led the implementation of critical care protocols and quality improvement initiatives, including serving as Trauma Medical Director and Acute Care Surgery Program Director. In her current role as Regional Director of Surgical Services in Wisconsin, she oversees multidisciplinary teams, ensures adherence to evidence-based standards, and champions continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

Dr. Bakey holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount St. Mary’s College and pursued graduate studies in Health Administration at California State University, Northridge. Her passion lies in uniting clinical excellence with strategic leadership to enhance healthcare delivery across systems.
