Jackson, TN – Jackson-Madison County General Hospital has once again been recognized as a Bronze Cribs for Kids® National Safe Sleep Hospital, continuing a commitment to infant safety and family education that began when the hospital first received the certification in 2015.
The recertification recognizes the hospital’s continued dedication to following evidence-based safe sleep guidelines, educating families and modeling safe sleep practices for newborns before they leave the hospital.
For more than a decade, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital team members have worked to provide parents and caregivers with the education and resources they need to create safer sleep environments for their babies at home.
“This recertification reflects the continued commitment of our team to providing exceptional care and giving every baby the safest possible start in life,” said Deena Kail, BSN, RN, Chief

Tamatha Powell, Director of A3/OBGYN
Mary Ann Kelley, Women & Children’s Center
Deena Kail, CNO for Jackson-Madison County General Hospital
Tabitha Kozlowski, Director of NICU
Nursing Officer at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. “Maintaining these standards over the years takes dedication from our team, and we are proud to continue providing families with the education and support they need to practice safe sleep at home.”
Research shows that parents often follow the practices they see modeled in the hospital. By teaching families how to create a safe sleep environment, healthcare providers can help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths.
According to Cribs for Kids®, approximately 3,400 infants die each year in the United States from sleep-related causes. The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program is based on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and recognizes hospitals committed to reducing those tragedies through continued education and awareness.
