Bio
Hunter Newsome is a registered nurse with extensive experience in critical care, cardiac services, and military medicine. He brings a strong clinical background in high-acuity patient care, with specialized experience in cardiac intensive care and the cardiac catheterization lab.
Hunter began his nursing career at West Tennessee Healthcare, where he served in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit as both a charge nurse and preceptor. In this role, he cared for critically ill cardiac patients while also mentoring and supporting nursing staff. He later transitioned to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, continuing his leadership as a charge nurse and preceptor while assisting in advanced cardiac procedures and patient care.
In addition to his civilian career, Hunter serves as a Captain in the Tennessee Air National Guard with the 164th Medical Group. His military experience includes clinical care, education and training, and international deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
Hunter earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis – Lambuth and his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Union University.
He holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course, reflecting his commitment to maintaining excellence in patient care.
