Jahn Acevedo Ortiz, MD is a family medicine physician dedicated to providing compassionate, community centered care to patients and families in West Tennessee. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Acevedo Ortiz brings a strong commitment to service, education, and relationship driven care to every patient encounter.

Dr. Acevedo Ortiz earned his Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology from the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus before completing his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. He recently completed his Family Medicine Residency Rural Track through the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he also serves as Chief Resident.

During his residency, Dr. Acevedo Ortiz has played an important role in helping establish and grow the rural family medicine program serving Martin and South Fulton, Tennessee. He provides care in the hospital and clinic, supports student health services at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and serves as part of the medical teams supporting local high school and university athletics.

Dr. Acevedo Ortiz values the relationships that come with practicing medicine in a close knit community. Over the past several years he and his wife, Andrea, have built deep connections in Martin and have chosen to make the community their permanent home as they raise their two children, Cosmos and Athenas.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Acevedo Ortiz enjoys spending time with his family, playing pickleball and basketball, studying astronomy and cosmology, playing chess, and cheering on his favorite soccer team, Real Madrid.
