Bio
Janis Cekan, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with Inspire Women’s Health in Henry County. She brings more than two decades of nursing experience to her role, including years of hands-on patient care as a certified nursing assistant, registered nurse and nurse practitioner.
Janis began her healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant before earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Mid-State Technical College in 2001. She went on to serve as a registered nurse for 19 years, gaining experience in many areas of hospital care. Her favorite area was labor and delivery, where she spent 10 years caring for women and families during some of life’s most meaningful moments.
Her passion for patient care led her back to school, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kaplan University and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from Purdue University Global. As a nurse practitioner, Janis has experience providing physical assessments, ordering and interpreting labs and imaging, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, and working closely with patients to create personalized care plans.
At Inspire Women’s Health, Janis is excited to focus on women’s health and provide compassionate, supportive care for patients in Henry County and the surrounding communities. She is passionate about helping patients feel heard, informed and empowered in their health journey.
Originally from Wisconsin, Janis moved to Paris, Tennessee, to enjoy warmer weather and a new season of life. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, fishing, camping and music. She has one daughter, two stepchildren and two grandchildren.
