Bio
Razia Hashmi, MD, is an Internal Medicine specialist with a strong commitment to patient-centered care. With more than three years of experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing complex medical conditions, she is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through clear communication, education, and compassionate care.
Dr. Hashmi earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine, where she also completed her Bachelor of Human Health Science. She has completed her Internal Medicine residency at LewisGale Medical Center, where she managed high-volume caseloads, supervises residents, and contributes to clinical research to advance evidence-based practice.
Her professional focus includes preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She believes in empowering patients to take an active role in their health through open dialogue and individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Hashmi is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). She is fluent in English, Hindi, Persian, and Urdu, allowing her to serve a diverse patient population with cultural sensitivity.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hashmi enjoys cycling, horseback riding, traveling, and music.
