Gregory Barrett, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in acute care and trauma surgery at West Tennessee Medical Group. With advanced training in robotic-assisted surgery using the Da Vinci Xi system, Dr. Barrett brings cutting-edge techniques and compassionate care to every patient interaction.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery internship and residency. Gregory Barrett, MD, holds a Master of Science in Preclinical Sciences from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Anderson University.

Dr. Gregory Barrett’s clinical interests include trauma care, general surgery, and surgical education. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in respected journals such as The Journal of Surgical Education, The American Surgeon, and The Journal of Biological Chemistry, underscoring his dedication to research and advancing the field of surgery.

Committed to excellence, Dr. Barrett blends academic rigor, surgical precision, and a patient-centered approach to deliver exceptional care across West Tennessee. Outside the operating room, he enjoys fishing, hunting, water sports, and preparing farm-to-table meals for his beloved family.
