Bio

William Johnson, MD, is a pulmonology and critical care physician who provides care for patients with lung, breathing and complex respiratory conditions. He is committed to building strong relationships with patients and families, with a focus on clear communication, trust and care that supports better outcomes.

Dr. Johnson has deep roots in West Tennessee. He attended Lambuth University and Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville.

Dr. Johnson completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he later served as chief medical resident. He continued his training through a pulmonology and critical care fellowship at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. He is board certified in internal medicine.

His clinical and research background includes work related to asthma, bronchoscopy, COVID-19 pneumonia, complex chest conditions and critical care medicine. Through his training and leadership experience, Dr. Johnson has developed a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to caring for people with both acute and ongoing respiratory needs.

Dr. William Johnson is proud to return to West Tennessee and serve the community that helped shape his path in medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, painting and music.
