Theodore Wright, MD is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience treating complex heart, lung, and vascular conditions. He is dedicated to providing advanced surgical care while helping patients and families understand their treatment options with clarity and compassion.
Dr. Wright was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he attended local public schools before earning his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1991. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Virginia School ofhttps://med.virginia.edu/ Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Wright returned to New Jersey to complete a five year General Surgery residency at Monmouth Medical Center, a community based program known for its strong emphasis on service and patient centered care. During his training he also gained extensive surgical experience at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he developed advanced surgical skills treating complex disease.
Dr. Wright then completed a two year Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, where he trained in advanced surgical procedures for heart and lung disease. Following fellowship, he pursued additional subspecialty training through a two year Heart and Lung Transplantation program at the University of California San Francisco, caring for patients with the most severe and life threatening heart and lung conditions.
Dr. Wright is board certified in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He brings highly specialized expertise in cardiothoracic surgery and advanced treatment for heart and lung disease to patients across West Tennessee.
