Bio
With a background in Internal Medicine, Taylor Lewis, DO, is a Hospitalist who provides comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, including complex medical needs.
Dr. Lewis graduated from Texas Christian University with a Biology Major and Spanish for Health Professionals Minor and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee.
Throughout her training, Dr. Lewis gained experience across a broad range of specialties including Cardiology, Pulmonology/Critical Care, Nephrology, Neurology, Hematology/Oncology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Geriatric, Palliative Medicine and more. This broad clinical experience helps her approach each patient with an understanding of how multiple health conditions can affect their overall care.
For Dr. Lewis, hospital care goes beyond diagnosing and treating an illness. She believes patients and their families should be involved and understand what is happening with their care, why certain treatments are recommended and what to expect as they recover. She values clear communication and works closely with nurses, specialists and other members of the care team to coordinate treatment and help patients move safely from the hospital to the next stage of their recovery.
When Dr. Lewis isn’t providing patient care, she is an avid sports fan. Once placing 7th, 8th and 12th in the nation in the Junior Olympics in track and field and a recipient of a D1 basketball scholarship, sports have always been an integral part of her life. She also participates in golf and CrossFit. She is a fluent Spanish speaker, learning Japanese and enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends while still finding time to cook and bake for leisure.
