Bolivar Hospital CEO Appointed to AHA Rural Health Services Council

Jackson, Tennessee (January 14, 2021) – West Tennessee Healthcare is pleased to announce that Ruby Kirby, CEO of Bolivar Hospital, has been appointed to the American Hospital Association (AHA) Rural Health Services Council for a one-year term.

The Rural Health Services Council plays an important role of actively advising the AHA on advocacy positions, public policy issues and rural member service strategies. A member of the AHA Board serves as liaison to the Council to insure that its recommendations and analyses are used by the AHA Board in policy deliberations.

Kirby has been with West Tennessee Healthcare since 1979, and has served in several leadership roles during her career with the health system.

“We congratulate Ruby on this important appointment. Her experience serving in rural West Tennessee hospitals and her understanding of the challenges they face will be highly valuable in her service to the Council,” said Tina Prescott, Chief Operating Officer.
