Bio
Melissa Mooney, MD, was raised in Millington, Tennessee, and is a dedicated physician with a passion for patient care and medical education. She earned her medical degree from ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in 2015 and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in 2018.
Dr. Mooney began her career as a Hospitalist at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in 2018 and, in 2020, transitioned to a role as a teaching Hospitalist for the UT Family Medicine Residency Program at JMCGH. She is passionate about caring for patients during their most critical and vulnerable moments, and finds great purpose in training the next generation of physicians to provide excellent care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Melissa Mooney enjoys kayaking, horseback riding, hunting, running, and, most of all, spending time with her two children, Brooks and Callie Jo.
