Patrick Rene Showalter, MD, is a board-certified urologist with more than two decades of experience caring for patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. He focuses on clear communication, careful evaluation and helping patients understand their treatment options.
Dr. Showalter earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery and urology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He later served as chief resident in urology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Showalter has provided both clinical and surgical urology care in hospital and outpatient settings. He previously served as a founding partner of Middle Tennessee Urology Specialists and has worked with several hospitals in Tennessee and other states.
Dr. Showalter has also held leadership roles on operating room, physician excellence and robotic surgery committees. He has been a member of the American Urological Association since 1998. His honors include the Pfizer Scholar in Urology Award and recognition as MTMC Clinician of the Year.
Dr. Showalter is committed to providing experienced, patient-centered urology care. His goal is to help patients feel informed, comfortable and confident throughout their care.
