JACKSON, Tenn. — August 31, 2026 — West Tennessee Medical Group is pleased to welcome Patrick Rene Showalter, MD, a board-certified urologist bringing more than two decades of experience in clinical and surgical urology.
Dr. Showalter provides care for patients with a wide range of urologic concerns and is committed to helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options and next steps. His approach to care is centered on experience, clear communication and thoughtful decision-making.
Dr. Showalter earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed general surgery and urology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he later served as chief resident in urology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Showalter has practiced in both hospital and outpatient settings. He previously served as a founding partner of Middle Tennessee Urology Specialists and has held medical staff and consulting privileges at hospitals across Tennessee and other states.
His leadership experience includes service on operating room and physician excellence committees, as well as serving as chairman of a robotics committee. Dr. Showalter has been a member of the American Urological Association since 1998. His professional honors include the Pfizer Scholar in Urology Award and recognition as MTMC Clinician of the Year.
