Jackson-Madison County General Hospital Recognized for Zero Harm in Patient Care

JACKSON, TN. – Multiple units at West Tennessee Healthcare Jackson-Madison County
General Hospital have been recognized for their commitment to patient safety, earning Zero
Harm Awards for preventing healthcare-associated infections throughout 2025.

Clinical units within the hospital achieved Zero Harm in:

• Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI)
• Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI)

The recognition reflects the work of physicians, nurses and clinical teams across JMCGH to
prevent infections and provide safe, high-quality care to patients.

“Patient safety is a responsibility shared by every member of our team,” said Dr. Bethany
Lawrence, Vice President and CMO of Jackson Madison County General Hospital. “These
recognitions reflect the dedication of our clinical teams and the work they do every day to
provide the highest level of care for our patients.”

Zero Harm means exactly what it sounds like: recognized units went the award period without a
healthcare-associated infection in the respective categories. Achieving that requires consistent
attention to infection prevention, patient monitoring, communication and teamwork

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) presents Zero Harm Awards annually to hospitals
and clinical departments that go extended periods without specific healthcare-associated
infections. In 2026, 100 Tennessee hospitals received Zero Harm recognition based on their 2025
patient safety results.

For Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, the recognition reflects an ongoing commitment
to providing safe, high-quality care for patients throughout West Tennessee and the surrounding
region.
