Breana Hunt, DNP, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She provides compassionate, patient-centered care with a strong focus on listening, education and helping patients feel supported throughout their health journey.
Breana earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Breana gained five years of experience as a registered nurse in critical care. Her background includes caring for patients in neuro, trauma, COVID, medical/surgical and neurosurgical intensive care units. She also served as a charge nurse and preceptor, helping support patients, families and fellow nurses in high-pressure clinical settings.
As a family nurse practitioner, Breana has experience completing comprehensive assessments, developing evidence-based care plans and helping manage acute and chronic illnesses across different stages of life. Her clinical training includes family practice, orthopedics, annual wellness exams, women’s health and care for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Breana is passionate about providing thoughtful care that treats the whole person. She values teamwork, clear communication and patient education, and she is committed to helping patients better understand their health and feel confident in their care.
